Have you ever heard of Jamaican Pepper?
Jamaican pepper, also known as allspice was discovered on the island of Jamaica during the crusades in the 15th century. Christopher Columbus was seeking ordinary black pepper that was known as “black gold”, often used to pay rent or salaries.
The origin of the name allspice comes from its aroma that has hints of; cloves, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Nowadays Jamaican pepper is still considered to be of superior quality because of its refined flavor, and bigger size.
We decided to use this Jamaican spice because of its irreplaceable taste that adds great value to any cheese. As we aim to make the shared cheesy chapters of your life perfect, why not add the perfect ingredient to it?
Jamaican pepper has a much milder taste than hot pepper and therefore we also recommend you to combine it with a selection of milder cheeses such as; emmental, goat cheese and Gruyère.
And what about Pimentón Picante ?

Another discovery by Christopher Columbus is the spice Pimentón picante, alias hot pepper. When this spice was firslty discovered and tasted by Columbus, he called it pimienta, he named it after the already discovered black pepper, (pimiento).
Pimentón picante is a typical spice of Spain that is made out of dried chili’s smoked over oak, resulting in a woodsy, smoky and irresistible flavor. One of the reasons why we decided to use this spice in our Chapter Collection is to emphasize our origin; the Mediterranean. Hot pepper is a spice that is indispensable in the Spanish kitchen. It is used when cooking typical dishes but also to sprinkle over some cheese. As the Chapter Collection is specifically created to pair with cheese we truly believe it is a perfect ingredient for our crackers.
We recommend you to combine our hot paprika crackers with a selection of stronger cheeses such as; cured Manchego cheese that is a perfect example to stay aligned with the Mediterranean taste. Other cheeses that fit well with Chapter #2 are; Tête de Moine, blue cheese, torta del Cesar and Stilton.
